Tackeling The American Continent with the Innoptus Solar Team

Hey there!

We are the Innoptus Solar Team from KU Leuven in Belgium.

For over 20 years, we have been racing all over the world to promote sustainability and renewable energy. Through races, events, and outreach, we inspire thousands of students and professionals to engage with sustainable engineering and cutting-edge mobility solutions.

Each year, we are a team of around 20 students working full-time on the design, construction and innovation of our solar car.
Every two years, we build an entirely new car from scratch for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, followed by a year focused on innovation and adaptation to compete in other international competitions.

Over the years, this has resulted in 11 Belgian Solar Cars, each unique and pushing the boundaries of technology, efficiency, and performance. During our journey, we have crowned ourselves world champions twice and secured another podium finish last summer. In addition, we have won championships across Europe, South Africa, and South America, and competed in Abu Dhabi.

However, one continent is still missing: the United States.

This summer, we will take part in the American Solar Challenge, aiming to complete our global journey and become the first European team to win it. The challenge is even greater as the race takes place more than two months earlier than we are used to, putting significant pressure on both our car and our development process.

This means that not only our car needs to be hyper efficient, but so do we.

That’s why partners like AISLER are essential to our success.
In high-performance electrical systems, rapid iteration is key.
You will make mistakes — especially when pushing high-performance electrical systems under time pressure.
Being able to go from design → order → test in just a few days instead of waiting weeks makes a massive difference in how fast we can move.
AISLER’s Blitz Service allows us to reduce turnaround times from weeks to just days, helping us maintain momentum throughout development.

With partners like AISLER, we can push the limits of our electrical systems and take on the American Solar Challenge with confidence.

Thank you for your support!
