Hello Aisler community,
It would be helpful for customers in the USA to have updated pricing guide in USD. The current pricing structure is in Euros. After uploading my PCB gerbers, the quote I got was near double the exchange rate equivalent.
For context, the PCB is 2-layer HASL 175mm x 88mm or 154cm squared. So it should cost using the “2 Layer 1.6mm HASL Budget” service to be €12.00 + (154 * €0.06) = €21.24. Current exchange rate to USD is around $25. The price I got was $45.21 before sales tax and shipping. This is much more even taking into consideration of the import tariff(15 percent) and currency exchange rate.
Additionally I would like to inquire on the USA based manufacturing that Aisler’s CTO Patrick Franken announced in KiCon 2019. Is there any update to this?
Hey @acedogblast,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out. There can be various reasons for the price difference. Please share your project ID with us. We’ll check and see where the difference comes from.
Unfortunately, there are no news regarding a USA based manufacturing. As soon as this changes, we will inform you through the usual channels.
Hello @Sarah-from-AISLER, the project ID is RXPWXBVS. It is just the PCB outline without any traces or components yet so I can quickly upload to get a quote. Thank you for looking into this.
Edit: Price when up to $46.15
I checked your project for delivery in germany: Before VAT, this PCB costs €39.64. It seems like the only difference is the exchange rate.
Perhaps the problem is the minimum order quantity, which is three PCBs? This might cause confusion when you calculate the price of a single PCB.
